$75 HVAC Tune-Up
Your system is generally operating and you want preventive service to help keep it that way. Islas Heating & Cooling provides a $75 HVAC tune-up — an operating-condition review, not a diagnostic repair visit.
A Preventive Visit at a Clear Price
Our standalone HVAC tune-up is $75. It's a preventive maintenance visit — the technician reviews the equipment and operating conditions relevant to the system and the visit. A tune-up is its own appointment type, separate from a diagnostic visit for an active system problem.
We don't use a fixed "point count" checklist, and not every system receives every exact test. The scope depends on the equipment and its condition. We explain what we reviewed before we leave.
Two Different Service Intents
For equipment that is generally operating — review condition and support reliable operation.
Diagnoses an active malfunction and provides a repair estimate. If repair is approved, the diagnostic fee is applied toward the approved repair under current company policy.
Both currently start at $75 — but they are different service intents.
Maintenance vs Repair — Which Do You Need?
A tune-up is for equipment that's generally operating. If you have an active problem, a diagnostic visit on the right repair page is the correct starting point.

Why HVAC Maintenance Matters
Supports Reliable Operation
Preventive maintenance can help identify developing concerns and support reliable operation — but it cannot guarantee equipment will never fail.
Supports Efficient Operation
Proper maintenance can support efficient system operation when equipment is otherwise operating correctly — no guaranteed efficiency improvement or savings percentage.
Supports Equipment Condition
Regular maintenance may help support equipment condition and reliability over time — no guaranteed lifespan extension.
What May Be Reviewed During a Tune-Up
Representative categories — not a fixed count. What's actually reviewed depends on the equipment and its condition.
"Where applicable" and "depending on equipment" — not every system receives every exact test. We don't use an arbitrary fixed point-count checklist. The technician reviews the equipment and operating conditions relevant to your system and maintenance visit.
Maintenance by Equipment Type
Cooling-System Maintenance
System operation, airflow, outdoor-unit condition, coil condition, drainage, controls, and electrical/operating conditions where applicable.
AC not cooling? AC RepairHeating-System Maintenance
Heating operation, controls, blower/airflow, system cycling, and general equipment condition where applicable.
Heating not working? Heating RepairHeat-Pump Maintenance
Heating-mode and cooling-mode operation, controls, thermostat configuration, outdoor/indoor equipment condition, airflow, and defrost-related operating behavior where relevant.
Heat pump malfunctioning? Heat Pump RepairFurnace Maintenance — Safety First
Furnace maintenance is kept at a professional-inspection level for gas, combustion, and safety-control topics. We don't provide DIY combustion or gas instructions, and we don't claim every tune-up includes a specific combustion-analysis procedure unless verified.
Furnace malfunctioning? Furnace RepairThermostat & Control Review
Maintenance may include reviewing thermostat operation, configuration, compatibility concerns, heat-pump settings, and general control communication. Islas Heating & Cooling is a Google Nest Pro — but a maintenance appointment is not a smart-thermostat installation/programming visit.
Google Nest ProAirflow & Filter Considerations
Airflow and filter condition may be reviewed. We inspect filter condition and can discuss replacement — we don't promise a free filter is included, and not every system uses the same filter size or type.
Electrical / Operating-Condition Review
Maintenance may involve review of relevant electrical and system-operating conditions where applicable. We don't provide DIY capacitor testing, contactor replacement, breaker work, or internal wiring repair instructions.
Refrigerant Language
We don't top off refrigerant during every tune-up, and we don't market refrigerant as routine consumable maintenance. If operating conditions suggest a refrigerant-circuit concern, further diagnosis may be recommended. Adding refrigerant without evaluating the underlying condition is not a substitute for proper diagnosis — and we don't provide DIY charging guidance.
What Cleaning Is — and Isn't — Included
The $75 tune-up may include light maintenance or cleaning activities when applicable to the equipment and condition. We don't promise that every tune-up universally includes full evaporator-coil cleaning, condenser deep cleaning, duct cleaning, blower-wheel removal/cleaning, drain-line restoration, or chemical cleaning.
Major cleaning services may require additional service and investment. We describe only what's actually standard scope — and we tell you if a deeper cleaning is recommended.
What Maintenance Does NOT Guarantee
We won't overpromise what a tune-up can do.
Preventive maintenance can help identify developing concerns and support reliable operation — but it cannot guarantee that equipment will never fail.
What Happens If a Problem Is Found
If maintenance reveals a condition requiring repair or additional diagnosis, the technician explains the findings and repair or further-diagnostic options are discussed. You authorize any additional work before it proceeds — repair labor and materials are not included in the $75 tune-up.
Maintenance Timing & Frequency
Maintenance timing can depend on equipment type, manufacturer guidance, usage, condition, and homeowner preferences. Many homeowners schedule service before periods of heavier seasonal use. We don't make an absolute claim that every system must be serviced exactly twice per year — your equipment and situation guide the recommendation.
If Significant Equipment Concerns Are Discovered
A tune-up isn't a replacement funnel. If significant condition concerns come up, it's appropriate to weigh repair vs replacement — we don't say old equipment automatically needs replacement.
