Professional HVAC Replacement
Considering replacing your HVAC system? Islas Heating & Cooling provides free complete-system replacement estimates, YORK® equipment options, and financing — with a written proposal and no pressure.
Is It Time to Consider HVAC Replacement?
Replacement isn't automatically the right answer. These factors help frame the conversation — condition matters more than any single number.
Equipment Age
Age is one factor, not a rule. We look at it alongside condition — not as a hard cutoff that automatically means replacement.
Current Condition
The actual condition of the equipment and its major components matters more than the year on the nameplate.
Repair Frequency
How often the system has needed service — and whether that pattern is accelerating — helps frame the decision.
Repair Investment
The cost of the current repair relative to the value of the system is part of the conversation.
Reliability
A system that no longer runs dependably is a real consideration, especially during peak season.
Comfort
Persistent uneven temperatures or poor performance after repairs may point toward replacement.
Energy Use
Older equipment may use more energy than newer, properly selected options — depending on the existing system and what would replace it.
Safety
Any safety concern is evaluated carefully and weighed into the recommendation.
Parts Availability
When parts become difficult to obtain, repair can become less practical.
Sizing / Configuration
If the existing system isn't appropriately sized or configured for the home, replacement may address long-standing comfort issues.
Your Long-Term Plans
How long you plan to stay in the home can affect whether repair or replacement is the better investment.

We don't use a hard "10-year" or "15-year" replacement rule. Equipment condition drives the recommendation.
Not Sure Whether You Need Repair or Replacement?
The right starting point depends on what you're trying to find out.
System Not Working? Get a Diagnosis
If your system is malfunctioning and you want the actual problem identified, schedule a $75 diagnostic appointment. We diagnose first — then recommend repair or replacement based on what we find.
Want Replacement Pricing? Request an Estimate
If you already know you want pricing for a complete-system replacement, request a free replacement estimate. We gather the information and prepare a written proposal.
Request a Replacement EstimateRepair vs Replacement
Replacement is not automatically the right answer. We consider the condition of the equipment, the repair required, reliability, comfort, efficiency, safety, and your goals before recommending a path. If a repair is reasonable and reliable, we'll say so. If replacement is the better investment, we'll explain why — with no pressure.
Compare Repair vs ReplaceWhat We Weigh
- Equipment condition
- Repair investment
- Reliability
- Comfort
- Efficiency
- Safety
- Parts availability
- Your long-term plans
Diagnostic Service Fee — $75
Our current HVAC diagnostic/service fee is $75. The fee covers diagnosing the system, identifying the issue, and providing a repair estimate. If you proceed with the approved repair, the diagnostic fee is applied toward the repair according to current company policy. This is a diagnostic visit — not a "free estimate."
Free Replacement Estimates
Complete HVAC system replacement estimates are free when the visit is specifically for gathering replacement information — evaluating your needs, taking pictures, and preparing a replacement proposal. That's different from a diagnostic visit, which addresses an existing system problem. Tell us which type of visit you need when you schedule.
What Happens During a Replacement-Estimate Visit
We discuss your comfort concerns and goals
What's not working, what you'd want from a new system, and your budget direction.
We review the existing equipment
The technician gathers model and system information from your current setup.
We evaluate installation conditions
Placement, access, and conditions relevant to the replacement project are reviewed.
We take photos and measurements
Necessary photos and measurements are gathered to prepare an accurate proposal.
We discuss system configurations
Possible equipment configurations and what would fit your home and goals.
We explain equipment and financing paths
Available equipment options and financing, if you're interested.
We prepare a replacement proposal
You receive a written proposal to review — no obligation.
Depending on the property and project, the exact steps can vary — this is a general outline, not a fixed checklist.
Choosing the Right HVAC System
Replacement equipment shouldn't be selected just because the existing unit is a certain tonnage, because a neighbor has the same system, or on a "bigger is better" assumption. An oversized system can short cycle and dehumidify poorly; an undersized one can struggle to keep up.
Proper selection considers the home, the existing equipment, ductwork and airflow where relevant, your comfort requirements, equipment pairing, and the application. The goal is equipment appropriately matched to your home and goals — not a one-size-fits-all answer.
System Types We Can Replace With
A high-level overview — the right fit depends on your home and project.
Traditional Split-System HVAC
Separate indoor and outdoor components providing heating and cooling through ductwork — the most common whole-home configuration.
Heat Pumps
Heating and cooling from one system. Whether a heat pump fits depends on the home, climate, application, and existing conditions.
Heat Pump InstallationPackage Systems
Self-contained equipment where appropriate — common for some manufactured homes and certain installation conditions.
Mini Splits
Ductless comfort for specific applications such as garages, ADUs, or additions. Not the default whole-home replacement unless the project supports it.

Financing Your HVAC Investment
A complete-system replacement is a significant investment. Flexible financing is available to help make it more manageable. We don't publish rates or payments here — terms depend on the lender and your application. Ask about financing options when you schedule.
Rebate, tax-credit, and utility-incentive programs change frequently and vary by location and equipment — ask about any currently available programs when you schedule.
From Proposal to Installed System
Installation timing: depends on project scope, equipment, site conditions, and permitting and scheduling where applicable — we don't promise an exact one-day install.
Permits: permit requirements depend on the project and local jurisdiction. Applicable permit requirements can be addressed as part of the replacement project.
Warranty: manufacturer warranty coverage varies by equipment, registration, installation, and terms. Specific warranty information is provided with your replacement proposal and the selected equipment's warranty documentation.
Efficiency: newer, properly selected equipment may offer improved efficiency compared with older equipment, depending on the existing system, replacement equipment, and operating conditions.
