Indoor Air Quality Solutions

HVAC-related indoor air quality is a system-level question — filtration, humidity, ventilation, airflow and source conditions. Islas Heating & Cooling helps homeowners understand their options with project-specific recommendations. We do not guarantee health outcomes.

Indoor Air Quality Is Not One Product

HVAC-related indoor-air solutions can address factors such as filtration, humidity, airflow and ventilation, but they are not medical treatment and individual health outcomes are not guaranteed. Appropriate planning considers the whole system — contaminant/source concerns, filtration, airflow, humidity, ventilation, HVAC equipment, duct conditions, controls and homeowner goals.

Indoor Air Quality in an HVAC Context

Indoor air quality is not one product. HVAC-related indoor-air solutions can address factors such as filtration, humidity, airflow and ventilation, but they are not medical treatment and individual health outcomes are not guaranteed.

Because the HVAC system circulates air through the home, filtration, humidity, ventilation and system compatibility all interact. Appropriate IAQ planning considers the whole system — not a single accessory.

A Whole-Home / System Question

Indoor air quality depends on multiple factors, including sources inside the home, filtration, ventilation, humidity, airflow, building conditions and HVAC operation.

Contaminant / source concerns Filtration Airflow Humidity Ventilation HVAC equipment Duct conditions Controls Homeowner goals

Filtration & Filter Selection

HVAC filters protect equipment and can capture airborne particles — but filtration performance depends on filter type, fit, airflow and equipment compatibility.

HVAC filters protect equipment and can capture airborne particles depending on filter design

Filtration performance varies by filter type and condition

Filter fit and airflow matter

Equipment compatibility matters

Replacement frequency depends on the filter, system, conditions and usage

MERV Ratings

MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) is a rating system. Higher ratings generally indicate filtration of smaller particles within the rating system, but higher MERV is not automatically the correct choice for every HVAC system — system airflow and static-pressure capability matter.

Filter selection should balance filtration goals with the HVAC system's airflow and equipment requirements.

HEPA Considerations

True HEPA filtration meets a specific specification and can involve system/application considerations. It should not be assumed compatible with every central HVAC system, and a normal central HVAC filter is not automatically "HEPA." We do not make medical claims about HEPA filtration.

Air Cleaners / Filtration Accessories

Some HVAC systems can use dedicated air-cleaner or media-filtration accessories designed to work with the system as air circulates. Product capability, placement and compatibility vary by system. We do not claim any single accessory solves every air concern.

UV / Light-Treatment Systems

Some HVAC systems can use light-based treatment accessories designed for specific HVAC applications. Product capability, placement and compatibility vary.

We do not publish "kills 99%", "eliminates mold", "sterilizes your home", or medical-grade purification claims. No DIY UV-light installation instructions are provided — these accessories are installed by a professional.

Humidity & HVAC

Too much or too little indoor humidity can affect comfort and building conditions. We do not publish a universal "perfect humidity" number or promise health outcomes.

Humidifiers

Application varies. Installation depends on the HVAC system and configuration, maintenance requirements vary, and control integration may matter. Not every home needs one.

Dehumidifiers

Whole-home dehumidification can be relevant in appropriate applications. Sizing, application, HVAC interaction, and drainage/electrical requirements may apply. We do not guarantee mold prevention.

Ventilation / HRV / ERV

Ventilation strategies can introduce or exchange outdoor air in controlled ways depending on the home and equipment. HRV/ERV suitability is not assumed for every Inland Empire home.

What HVAC IAQ Products Do Not Do

Dust & Particles

Filters can capture airborne particles depending on filter type, but dust has multiple sources — housekeeping, building materials, and duct leakage or airflow conditions may all contribute. We do not guarantee a dust-free home.

Odors

Odors may come from HVAC conditions, drains, building materials, moisture, smoke, pets, cooking or other sources. We do not promise IAQ products eliminate every odor. An abnormal HVAC odor may indicate an equipment problem.

Smoke

Filtration may affect some airborne particles depending on filter and system design. We do not claim HVAC filtration makes wildfire smoke exposure "safe" and do not provide medical exposure advice.

Mold

Moisture and mold concerns can involve building, plumbing, ventilation or HVAC factors. HVAC accessories are not a substitute for correcting the underlying moisture source. We are not a mold-remediation company.

Homeowners may explore filtration or humidity options because of dust, particle or comfort concerns, but HVAC IAQ products are not medical treatment. We do not claim they cure, treat or prevent allergies, asthma or respiratory conditions.

IAQ Accessories & System Compatibility

IAQ accessories cannot be selected independently from the HVAC system in every case. Compatibility depends on the equipment and installation conditions.

Equipment configuration Airflow Static pressure Ductwork Physical space Electrical requirements Drainage Controls Installation conditions Manufacturer requirements

Ductwork & Airflow

Filtration and HVAC performance depend on airflow. If duct leakage, damaged ducts, disconnected sections or distribution problems are suspected, the duct system may need separate evaluation. We do not automatically recommend duct replacement or cleaning.

Ductwork Services

Maintenance, Repair & Replacement Routing

Preventive Maintenance

A $75 HVAC tune-up may review filter condition, airflow and general system condition where applicable. It is not automatically an IAQ assessment, duct cleaning, or accessory installation.

HVAC Maintenance

System Not Running?

No airflow, equipment not running, or abnormal operation is an HVAC malfunction — start with a $75 diagnostic. An IAQ accessory is not a substitute for diagnosing an HVAC malfunction.

HVAC Repair

Planning Replacement?

For a complete replacement, IAQ/accessory goals may be considered as part of the system project where compatible. A free complete-system replacement estimate applies only when scheduled as a replacement evaluation.

HVAC Replacement

Financing

If IAQ equipment is included as part of qualifying installation/replacement projects, financing may be available. We don't publish APR, payments, 0%, or guaranteed-approval claims here.

Warranty

Warranty terms vary by product and manufacturer. Review the applicable warranty information for any equipment included in your proposal. No universal IAQ accessory warranty is published here.

Pricing depends on the selected solution, equipment compatibility and installation requirements. Rebate and incentive programs are not assumed to apply to IAQ accessories — ask about any currently available programs when you schedule.
